1. You Shouldn’t Use Too Much
The amount of toothpaste you use doesn’t really matter, but when you use too much, you’re just letting cash fall down the drain. A pea-sized amount is enough to brush, and best of all, it will stay in your mouth and not get washed away with water from the tap.
2. Toothpaste Cures Breakouts
Putting toothpaste on a pimple has been a home remedy for a while, but the fact is that it’s simply not effective. While toothpaste can be drying, usually you’ll end up with a lot of redness and some serious irritation.
Any over the counter pimple medication with ingredients like salicylic acid will work better than your tube of toothpaste.
3. Its Poisonous
Toothpaste isn’t poisonous, and consuming a small amount wouldn’t hurt you. Additionally, most people believe that it is the fluoride that is most harmful, however more than that, it’s a host of ingredients designed to be used on your teeth, not eaten.
Eating a whole tube might make you sick, but it wouldn’t kill you.
4. Whitening Toothpaste Damages Teeth
It’s true that some whitening systems may cause sensitivity, but whitening toothpaste usually won’t cause problems if used as indicated. In fact, many dentists recommend it.
5. It’s not Essential
Some people will tell you water is fine, but they’re nuts! Toothpaste does an essential job, and if you want healthy teeth, you need to use it.
